Introducing Ever Something's Founders

It all started thanks to Foolish Things. Taylor and Jake Fowler had their wedding reception at Foolish Things in June of 2013. Taylor created all the floral arrangements, including bouquets, centerpieces, ect. It was so stunning and unique, reflecting Taylor in every way. Katie Carpenter, saw this and thought, "If I ever start a wedding planning business, I would want reach out to Taylor and see if she would be interested in doing floral under the same roof."

In early September 2013, Katie and Taylor met over coffee to discuss starting a wedding planning and floral business. They saw a need in the Tulsa market for unique and creative floral arrangements along with helping brides and clients plan events in a stress-free and meaningful way. Katie once said that, "Serving others on the most important day of their lives is something that we don't take lightly. It is an honor to create and work alongside our clients."

After that coffee meeting in September, they gave 6 months - 1 year to Ever Something as a test, and here they are, thriving almost 5 years later. They have been involved in hundreds of weddings and it has been such a joy. Both Katie and Taylor are grateful for the past, current, and future clients for trusting Ever Something and supporting them on along the way.

Here are some fun facts about Katie and Taylor that you may not know:

Katie - "Justin and I got married at the age of 21. To avoid a 2 year engagement, we graduated from collage a semester early. After 10 months of dating, Justin proposed. We still had 1.5 year engagement but got married three weeks after we graduated.

We opened Foolish Things at the sweet, young age of 24. On our first date Justin said that he wanted to open a coffee shop. I pretty much knew then that we would get married because my mom had a coffee shop in my hometown. I have loved every minute of seeing Foolish Things become what it is today. It is a tribute to my mom's beautiful and bold life.

We have a spunky, courageous, and wildly joyful 2.5 year old named Eleanor. She makes us laugh constantly. We often wonder how she comes up with her deep and wise observations. Needless to say we are so in love with her!

I played collegiate golf and absolutely love sports. Basketball and golf are my favorite sports.

My favorite coffee drink is an iced vanilla latte and my favorite adult beverage is either an excellent pinot noir or Japanese whiskey."

Taylor - "I love seeing new countries and traveling in general. My husband and I once drove straight from Seattle to Oklahoma without stopping. We enjoy driving to new places together.

I started floral design because I was a photographer and wanted to photograph flowers that I grew from my garden. I had no clue that flowers could be so artistic.

Being a mom is one of the greatest parts of who I am. I have a 3 year old and almost 1 year old. I honored to have the opportunity to raise them.

I aspire to be a gardener. Every year I am taking tiny steps to learn more about gardening. I love to walk around plant nurseries and read about plants. "
